NIMCET stands for National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test. It’s a competitive exam for admission to MCA programs in NITs and other participating institutions in India. The admission into the MCA programme is based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET only. before apply online form Candidates are advised to read information brochure carefully.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO APPEAR FOR NIMCET

Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point

scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ST/PwD) in

• (i) Any UG program of minimum three years with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects

OR

• (ii) B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University/Institution are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2025. Conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted.

(CGPA other than 10-point scale will be converted to 10-point scale based on unitary

 

Syllabus for NIMCET :

Total no. Of questions :- 120

• MATHEMATICS: (50 QUESTIONS)
• ANALYTICAL ABILITY & LOGICAL REASONING: (40 QUESTIONS)
• COMPUTER AWARENESS: (20 QUESTIONS)
• GENERAL ENGLISH: (10 QUESTIONS)

APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE THROUGH NIMCET  :

• OPEN/OPEN-EWS/OBC – 2,500/-
• SC/ST/PwD – 1,250/-

 Test Pattern :

The NIMCET test will be conducted with single paper in three parts containing 120 multiple

choice questions.

• The Part-I time-duration is 70 minutes and it consists of Mathematics (50 questions).
• The Part-II time-duration is 30 minutes and it consists of Analytical ability and Logical reasoning (40 questions).
• The Part-III time-duration is 20 minutes and it consists of Computer Awareness (20 questions) and English (10 questions).
