QS world University ranking 2026

A total of 54 universities are Indian in the QS World University Rankings which includes 12 IITs. IIT Delhi is the topper among universities from India in the rankings and is ranked 123 in overall Ranking.
A total of more than 1500 universities from 106 countries have made it to the QS World University Rankings; this includes 54 universities from India, of which 12 are IITs. 41% of Indian universities have increased their rank while 20% of universities have lowered their rank. While universities of China and Germany have strengthened their ranking the most. India has performed very well in the QS rankings. In the 2015 world rankings, only 11 universities were included, this time 54 universities are included.
The US remains the most represented country with 192 institutions. Hong Kong has 5 of its 9 institutions in the top 100, and 4 have improved their rankings. Sunway University in Malaysia has made the biggest improvement in its rankings, rising a total of 129 places.
